A business website's SOLE PURPOSE IN LIFE is to perform in Google searches, that's it's only function. It does you no good to have a pretty website if it's buried deep in the back of Google.

Your potential customers are not looking for YOUR business, they don't know, nor do they care who you are. People shop for almost everything in Google, that's your storefront. People type in what they want, then refine that search with the geographical area they're willing to go to get it.

You should select, in advance of ordering a website what keywords are likely to generate the most phone calls, inquires or leads and create your website's central theme around those keywords.

Emphasis on keyWORDS... it's the words or text on your site that's going to determine where and how high up in rank your website's going to show up in a Google search.

A blog will beat the crap out of a static conventional HTML website when it comes to ranking in Google.

Here's several things a blog can do that a website cannot:

Any one can update a blog, if you can write an email you can update your business blog, you don't need to pay a webmaster for each update to your company blog.

Blogs are by very definition news delivery systems, blogs broadcast in ways a static website can not. Each blog post is broadcast via RSS Feed and there are hundreds of RSS feed directories and aggregation services that are in essence news collating and distribution portals.

RSS feed pinging, there are blog Pinging services that announce or broadcast to dozens if not hundreds of the RSS feed portals described above.

Your business website should be changed frequently weather it needs it or not: Google favors fresh content, you want to rank high in Google? Change up your website often, a blog is specifically designed to "broadcast fresh content", Google knows this and is why Blogs beat static websites in a ranking horse race

RSS Feeds And Why They Make You Money

OK, so we established a blog "has" an RSS feed, having one is better than not having one but you don't have to just let it "sit there", you can PROMOTE an RSS feed.

So what happens when you put your companies message "out there" in an RSS feed? What is an RSS feed anyway and why would anyone want to look at one?

There are thousands of website's and blogs on every topic under the sun, many are hand written, more than a few are news aggregation sites that pull content from RSS feeds based on keywords.

With RSS feeds you have the opportunity to have your content republished on dozens if not hundreds of other sites, all with YOUR message and more importantly YOUR link on their domain.

The more websites that carry your company website url on them the better your company website's chances of ranking higher and higher in Google.

The number of OTHER websites, other domains that have YOUR link are known as Backlinks

Yes We Are For Hire
Google Places Ranking
fees vary with how competitive the keyword you’re wanting to compete in.
We can hit any target… some targets are harder to hit than others.

Google Places ranking starting from $2400 annually to $12000 annually.

Full portfolio displaying current rankings of existing clients, a proven track record, don’t take our word for any of this… call each one of our customers and ask them. Phone numbers and contact emails available on request.

Managed Company Facebook Pages $500 Month and up

Ghost write content for the supporting blogs we create, get each of them to rank in Google and create content for your company Facebook page and get the company Facebook Page we create and manage for your company to rank in Google:

$1000 upfront: between $500 month and $1000 month for retainer fee and content creation/management. We can hit any target, some targets are harder to hit than others.

Typical Fee is $15000 annually ideally for criminal lawyers, divorce attorneys that want to dominate the local search pages for the geographical area they practice law in.

National SEO Rankings: fees vary depending on competitiveness of the selected keyword phrase. Google Maps is often the ONLY search results displayed on a smart phone. Increasingly people will start using their smart phone instead of a laptop, you need your company to rank in the top 3 or you will be virtually invisible. Fee for top 3 ranking in Google Places and one listing in the top ten Google organic listings $2000 annually

Keyword selection: one on one consultation to select effective keywords $100.00 per hour Typically our clients have a long list of keywords they’d like to be found under, we counsel you should pick no more than 3 keyword phrases, sell one thing and sell it well. You only have X amount of Google authority available to you at one time, attempting to spread a finite quantity of Google Juice over many keywords is counter productive in our experience. Every 6 weeks add 3 more keyword phrases to target, do NOT attempt all of them at once.

Managed Company Facebook Pages

Ghost write content for the supporting blogs we create, get each of them to rank in Google and create content for your company Facebook page and get the company Facebook Page we create and manage for your company to rank in Google:

$1000 to $3000 upfront: between $500 month and $1000 month for retainer fee and content creation/management. Budding internet marketers pounced on newly discovered methods for search engine ranking manipulation and churned out garbage articles loaded with meaningless content and outlandish strings of invisible keywords. Luckily, search engine algorithm designers picked up on these tricks and refined their programs to ignore this nonsense, also known as "keyword stuffing", and SEO copywriting was born out of necessity. By using a combination of quality content sprinkled with ranking keywords, this method gave SEO writing more credibility.

Today, both people and search engine algorithms have developed a keen distaste for junk copy and excessive keyword use. As a result, in order to not only rank but grab and hold the attention of quality potential customers, SEO copy must be more and more content focused. Keywords will always be important, but a skilled SEO writer uses only one or two unique and natural-sounding search terms per page, knowing how to integrate and space these terms smoothly into the text. This integration can be tricky, so good writers have developed some techniques to make it easier for the more awkward keyword phrases. These may include enclosing the search term in quotes to make it seem like a technical term, defining it at the opening of the article to use further on, and using examples or comparing two different terms throughout the article in order to increase usage without sounding ridiculous.

And a skilled SEO writer delivers the best possible results-money in your pocket. Not only will they maneuver your site to the first page of search engine results, they'll attract quality paying customers who stick around and generate revenue for your business. This is achieved by writing researched, educational copy that is also readable and interesting to the average internet surfer. If you can grab and hold a customer's attention with copy that garners respect and adds to the trust and authority of your domain, you will likely have a sale on your hands. Even better, an excellent article will inspire readers to link to it, bookmark it, tweet and tell their friends about it, generating more and more sales over time.

So how does a writer achieve excellence in SEO copy? There are many ways to increase the "value" of an article in a reader's eyes:
1. Organization
2. Detail
3. Thorough research
4. A birds-eye view
5. Specific calls to action
6. Focus on benefits, not features
7. Usability
8. Understanding reader perspective
9. Readability across different age levels and education levels
10. Who, what, where, when, why and how
11. Always put the reader before the search engine
12. Keep asking after each paragraph: "Does the reader care?"
13. Back up information with real-world examples that anyone can relate to
14. Avoid repetition and redundancy
15. Remove unnecessary words and phrases
16. Use bullets, numbering, italics, and headings-and use them wisely
17. Avoid clichés and make sure industry jargon is well-defined
18. Vary sentence length
19. Avoid the passive tense
20. Maintain a tone that is conversational and engaging yet professional and technical at the same time

IT services Frederick, Md IT outsourcing, IT maintenance for small businesses in Md.

301 397-9804

Google Places Ranking

Google Maps Ranking Improved $200 month -$2400.00 annually (one time $2000, a $400 savings) guaranteed top 3 Google Places Ranking and 1 top 10 organic listing for your main keyword phrase

Organic search rankings can be achieved if you target everything about your web pages title, the article title, the paragraph headings with the keyword phrase you'd like to show up in the search results for.

Here's another SEO trick: Company Facebook Pages (not personal Facebook profiles) also show up prominently in Google searches. The holy grail of organic search ranking is to have your website occupy the #1 slot in the organic results and your company Facebook page occupy the #1 slot on for the same Google search results page.

<georss:box>39.3962316 -77.50371600000001 39.445303599999995 -77.424752</georss:box>

Does Your Company Have a Company Facebook Page Yet?

Got Company Facebook Fan Page Yet?

Everyone knows what Facebook is.
Your grandparents even have a Facebook page, chances are your customers have a Facebook page...well the customers YOU want do.
In terms of demographics, if a prospective customer has a Facebook page you know something about them, at a bare minimum you know they probably have a good job, probably are college educated, probably have a credit card
Do you really want to sell to people that do NOT have a credit card? What do you think your chances of making a profit would be if the customers you were attempting to attract did not have credit, or didn't have a job?
Not every industry can take full advantage of exposure to the vast Facebook community, the target market of certain types of stores for example deal in what political correctness terms the "disaffected", for example a local Latin market or a beer and wine store in the seedier side of the tracks... it's a safe bet their 'money customers" are not on Facebook. State highway contractors, for example get their work from Government bids, so being on Facebook doesn't make much sense for them.
There is however a reason for almost every company to have a company Facebook page...
Google is that reason.
Your personal Facebook account is blocked from Google's prying eyes, the contents of your personal Facebook page is protected, Google is not allowed to index its contents. Personal Facebook pages are visible ONLY to other Facebook members, and you can choose what parts of your Facebook site to share and what parts to share only with family members.
A Company FB page (also known as a Facebook Fan Page) ARE search-able by Google.
Having a Facebook Fan page means an EXTRA listing in Google's search results pages. Properly set up, you can end up with on entry in Google listings for your main website AND a second or even a third entry for your FB fan page Wall, your FB Fan page photos, and if you were slick enough to create a company blog in addition to your company website, a FB fan page is one of the most effective "blog delivery systems" you can use to promote your company blog. Obviously there's a whole lot more to it than that (or else I wouldn't be in business) This article is sales copy, it's a teaser...

Now if you want to dominate the local Search Engine Results Pages (serps in my industry) peruse the verifiable results that follow this article, call the real local businesses and ask them if ranking in Google locally is putting more money in their cash registers than they imagined it would. Google changed that! Today,
search directories are used to build links into websites. But, by
default, search directories have three major problems.

Problem #1: The Moving Target

Search directories use one of several methods to display their
inventory. The following list is a short representation of how
the inventory is presented to visitors and search engine spiders.

First In First Out (FIFO) - as the name describes listings are
displayed in the order in which they are submitted. This method
is good for the early listings. As more listings are added to the
category, the number of pages in the category increases. This
decreases the value of the category to both the owner and the
company desiring to submit its site.

Last In First Out (LIFO) - as the name describes listings are
displayed with the first submissions appearing last. This method
is good for the later listings, but who wants to be first when
they're going to show up last? As with FIFO, the number of pages
in the category increases.

Alpha-Numeric - company names or keywords receive the earliest
listings. As new listings are approved those listings could
easily move one's listing to oblivion.

Votes - unlike government election, presenting the inventory
based upon votes is extremely biased and ballot stuffing can
occur. As others come in, submit themselves, and add their votes
one's listing can easily fall to other pages.

Page Rank (PR) Values - Page Rank values adjust based upon
numerous factors and an algorithm controlled solely by Google.
One's PR value could be a five today and tomorrow it could be a
three. On the other hand, one's PR value could increase.
However, as PR values fluctuate so do the positions of the
listings.

Problem #2: Rel=NoFollow

Over the years, search engine optimization (SEO) consultants have
suggested using the online yellow pages to build quality links
into one's website. This thought was based upon the idea that
online yellow pages were authority sites. Whether that still
holds true today is debatable.

What isn't debatable is the online yellow pages use rel=nofollow
to tell the search engines to not count the links for search
engine placements. With prices ranging from $100 to $300 per
month, is the expense of getting a link from the online yellow pages
really worth paying? One may determine that a listing in the
online yellow pages will result in leads coming to one's
business.

Other directories use the rel=nofollow, as well.

How do the search engines use rel=nofollow? According to
WikiPedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_follow), Google
ignores the link and therefore the link does not count in the
search placement algorithm or in determining PR values. Yahoo
follows the link, but does not use it to determine search
placements. Bing provides no indication if it follows link with
the rel=nofollow attribute, however it does not use the link in
determining relevancy.

Problem #3: Limited Marketing Capabilities

Most search directories provide a link to one's website. Some
search directories list one's link in multiple categories. Still
even, some directories allow deep linking (links to internal
pages).

Top search engine optimization (SEO) consultants suggest that one
should build a natural inbound link profile to one's website.
The natural inbound link profile uses more links to internal web
pages than to the homepage. Additionally, the anchor text for the
inbound links should be relevant to the linked page.

Search directories by nature allow only links to the homepage.
Since the homepage cannot be relevant for every search term
available to one's business, making all inbound links point at
the homepage is not plausible. Even if it were, leading your
customers to one's homepage and making them search one's
website for the product or service they want is not
user-friendly.

Therefore, traditional search directories provide little or no
real value beyond increasing PR values. For this reason, search
engines like Google hold little or no regard for search
directories.

In Conclusion

The top three problems of search directories do not destroy the
ultimate value of search directories. The importance of choosing
the right search directory from which to acquire an inbound link
cannot be overstated. One should carefully review the search
directory before submitting and ensure the directory provides
quality links, not just a link.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Lee Roberts, owner of http://www.CommerceRegistry.com/ a SEO
friendly directory and http://www.ShopOklahomaOnline.com/ an
Oklahoma SEO friendly business directory. Both provide dedicated
marketing pages that advertisers can optimize for search engine
placement with multiple inbound links to one's website.

Company Advertising and Free Speech

Tweet Much?

Tweet about bad service?
Companies react to bad press via twitter with a lawsuit.

Chicago is looking a lot more like Tehran... than a city of citizens with the right to express what they see publicly.

Read on about how use of the law against people simply telling their friends about what they expirienced (and they may or may not have known that twitter tweets are public, meaning the entire world can see what you type) might have a chilling effect.

Horizon Realty For the majority of categories measured at Hitwise, search is the top source of traffic referrals and the share has increased year-over-year. Overall, search is increasing as a traffic driver. Among the parent categories that received less than 25% of traffic from search in April 2008, all except News & Media received a higher share of search referrals last month. This data suggests that the best growth opportunities for search are among the laggard categories where adoption has been slower as a referral tool.

Overall, visits to search engines increased 8% on April 2009 as compared to the previous year, implying that those visits will result in the searcher going somewhere afterwards. In order to translate the impact of search referrals upon traffic, I also took the size of the category into account and calculated the market share of visits that were search driven for the same year-over-year comparison. In this analysis, when translated into visits, the largest categories received more visits from search, regardless if overall traffic was up or down.

As Heather pointed out, the ratio of clicks from paid search has declined within some categories due to reduced spending by marketers in the current economic climate. There is nothing like a recession to encourage marketers to become more creative with budgets. The increased share of organic clicks also implies that companies are getting smarter about optimizing their websites to take advantage of organic search results and these SEO efforts are working. Additionally, the increased popularity of social media such as Facebook The obvious answer is that Google is not reporting all the links yet and it is very possible the page has links, but just not being reported yet. But that might not be the full answer.

If you've just stumbled onto this RSS feed and remember to subscribe to Local Organic Search Ranking via Email to ensure you can enjoy the latest post(s).

WebmasterWorld administrator, Tedster, feels that Google gives "mom and pop" sites an artificial PageRank boost, in some cases. Let me quote Tedster:

My assumption is that this unusual PR boost is one of the ways that Google helps "mom and pop" sites compete - something that Matt Cutts made a side comment about on his blog a few years ago. He never said WHAT Google does specifically, only that they do a few things.
It seems like many top names in the thread believe in this "artificial PageRank boost." The question is, what is the artificial part? Is it the score shown, how the score is made up, or how Google sees the page in terms of trust and popularity?

In any event, do you believe in the artificial PageRank boost? Take the poll below:

Is There a Google Artificial PageRank Boost?

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of optimizing your web site in order to increase natural search engine traffic. Proper SEO can be time consuming, complex, and costly... that is if you don't shop around.

Frederick Web Promotions has a sterling record: 100% of all our clients have Multiple Top Ten Organic Search Rankings, and we charge a fraction of what the other Maryland Internet Advertising firms charge.

It's been said that 90% of all Google Searchers and more than 90% of all other searchers will not click past the first set of search results. Why is that?

If Google thinks you're important enough to be listed in the top 10, that's good enough for most people. People KNOW that the 'sponsored' listings are paid advertising. The public operates under the assumption that Google is selecting the MOST important websites to be #1, #2 and so on.

It's not widely known that a well executed search engine optimization campaign can manipulate who gets to be #1

<georss:box>39.4089769 -77.419674 39.417265900000004 -77.405083</georss:box>

A prospective client trusts the organic results

What is meant by "Organic Search Results"?

It almost sounds edible doesn't it?

The definition of Organic Search Results is the search term results returned by a search engine that are derived from what they search engine itself thinks is important as opposed to returning paid listings or advertisements.

If you've just stumbled onto this RSS feed and remember to subscribe to Local Organic Search Ranking via Email to ensure you can enjoy the latest post(s).

You type a keyword into a search engine and the search engine tells you what it thinks is the most important website regarding that search term. Search terms are what the search engine industry calls "keywords".

Google claims that their users click (organic) search results more often than advertisements.

Wikipedia's definition of search engine optimization uses the term "Algorithmic" as a synonym for "Organic". What is an algorithm?

Why algorithms are necessary: an informal definition

While there is no generally accepted formal definition of "algorithm", an informal definition could be "an algorithm is a process that performs some sequence of operations." For some people, a program is only an algorithm if it stops eventually. For others, a program is only an algorithm if it stops before a given number of calculation steps.

For our purposes an algorithm is a mathematical process that stops when it decides, definitively which website gets to be Numero UNO and who is second string, third string, also ran, and filed away under 'deep six'.

Wikipedia goes on to say this: "As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines."

So optimizing a site means taking an existing site, it might be a pretty site, might be an interesting site, may or may not have state of the art graphics... but it's nowhere to be found.

Why is that?

Because the 'artist' who crafted the site didn't know the first thing about keywords nor did they take into account which part of the page the "bot" is going to "parse"... I'll bet my last paycheck the web designer thinks they're supposed to write the code for human consumption...

Wrong.

You want the site to be found I take it?

I mean the whole purpose of the site is to get someone to buy something... and is that going to happen if the fancy site is buried deep in the search results on say "results 71 through 80"

You either write the code to please GoogleBot or you're writing it as a hobby. If the desired result is to put MONEY in the CASH REGISTER, you' re wanting to write code that pleases Google FIRST, pleasing humans comes second.

Argue with me if you want... My sites make money, their sites look pretty.

Which one do you want?

What can one do to get your site to rank higher than your competitors site... that's the $12,000 question (which is what I charge for a 6 month Search Engine Marketing Campaign by the way - $2000 per month for six months... the rest of the year there is a lower monthly maintenance fee).

RELEVANCE - that's what Google Wants

Ranking - that's what YOU want.

Google is bigger than you are... you want something from Google?

I thought so... give Google What IT wants and Google can make you rich.

Anything that can be abused... will be (can't remember where I heard that first, wish I could claim it as my own quote). Everybody thinks the job of an SEO guy is to trick Google. So many people in marketing are under the foolish notion that our job is to 'get away with' getting at the top of Google without having to pay to get at the top.

Every business person on the planet wants their product to outsell everybody else's product.

They don't' give a rats a** about any body else but themselves.

What's in it for them? is their axiom.

They've got the cart before the horse!

Think about this carefully: What does Google Want?

more coming, stay tuned
